Big ups for hopping on that Illmatic track. He didn't exactly do to
it what Nas did, but it's the thought that counts. In the second
segment of the video, Q spits over a Biggie-sampled joint, as taken
from Life After Death's "Downfall."
And oh yeah... did I hear homie say "Every bad chick in the hood I'm
tryna knock it down"? Ask Radames... that's how you commit suicide. All
these rappers talking about smashing chicks are forgetting to mention
the percentage of these shorties that are walking around with The
Monster. You thought that Memphis Bleek's Garnier Fructis shampoo commercial was a bad look, check out the latest HIV stats. N*ggas better slow their road.
But back to the situation at hand. This Q kid isn't half bad. I
can't see a "real" album made up of material like this being
successful, but on some mixtape sh*t, this is definitely a good look.
Not only that, but he's definitely a step-up from earlier this week,
when That cornball DeX had me a little aggy.
This is the kind of underground music we want to hear. Not that biter garbage these little corny rappers are coming with.
